My Journey with Eczema

Do you have eczema? I’ve been having the biggest... can I call it “attack”, upon my face and neck! And it can seem like a small hell when you’re burning and itching and trying not to!

It’s literally having to face the world and say “yes it’s me! Just as I am” (looking like a boiled lobster!)
Apparently there are many types of eczema’s and reasons for their cause. Could be something you’re eating that doesn’t agree with you, or your environment that’s not friendly. But so often, and certainly in my case, it can have its roots in our thoughts and feelings . We know that we are what we eat, and probably we know how we feel as well. I comfort myself by thinking I’m an old snake finally shedding her skin, because what lies beneath is a new skin, tender and clear. It’s a nice thought.
My eczema began many years ago and at that time I went to see a dermatologist. She gave me a tub of body cream mixed of anti-inflammatories and cortisone. I have used it for years and yes, it calms the itch. They say however that if you use cortisone ongoing it buries the issue deeper and your body doesn’t have a chance to heal.
This time I decided to not reach for the comfort cream, but sat it out without, triggering my body to attempt a coup against this unkind perpetrator. Actually the intensity of this attack is making me look at feelings like frustration and what I might need to change or let go of in order to gain clarity of how I wish my life to proceed. We as a collective are being asked to raise our frequencies and welcome in the new earth, and it seems so many of us are literally “itching” to change our lives for the better and happier.
What else am I learning? Firstly, I’m learning to not question “why is this happening to me?” but rather “all of this is happening to me for good reason”, and when the so called “bad” things happen they bring with them the very lessons we need to learn about ourselves and others.
Secondly to honor the fact that our bodies have enormous capacity to heal, if we give them half a chance. In my case is was the decision to distance myself from the allopathic route of cortisone and seek out alternative, less destructive treatments. Homeopathic remedies have definitely aided the healing process.
In addition to this, a friend recommended Fulvic acid and supplied me with a small sample. I diluted it three parts to one and dabbed it all over my face, neck and upper chest. This morning when I awoke, most of the swelling had disappeared and the skin felt much softer. There is a heap of positive information on Fulvic acid online.
Thirdly I’m beginning to fully appreciate the support I’ve received from others.
We are hearing more and more the importance of community, of collaboration, and caring. And let me not forget Gratitude, and all the ways it comforts, supports and eases our lives with grace .
I would love to hear from you if you are experiencing health issues of any kind and how you are dealing with them.
May you travel well and find joy in small things.
Here is a quotation from a book called Message from Forever by Marlo Morgan :
"Forever Oneness who sings to us in silence, who teaches us through each other,
guide my steps with strength and wisdom.
May I see the lesson as I walk, honor the purpose of all things .
Help me touch with respect, always speak from behind my eyes.
Let me observe, not judge.
May I cause no harm, and leave music and beauty after my visit.
When I return to Forever, may the circle be closed and the spiral be broader."
